The main function of Roots blower for sewage treatment is aeration, which in layman's terms provides oxygen to bacteria. What is Roots Blower?

Roots blower is a volumetric and rotary blower. The air enters the fan through the intake muffler, and the two impellers inside the casing maintain a certain meshing gap with each other. Through synchronous gear belt action, the inhaled gas is pushed from the inlet to the outlet at a constant speed in reverse rotation, overcoming the resistance of high-pressure gas on the outlet side. It is forced out of the unit through the pressure relief valve, elastic joint, exhaust muffler, and one-way valve, achieving the purpose of conveying gas.
Roots blowers can be divided into belt connected Roots blowers and direct connected Roots fans according to the different connection methods of the motor and blower. The former is connected through a belt, while the latter is connected through a coupling. So what are the advantages of a direct connected blower? Firstly, the use time is longer and there will be no aging of the belt. Secondly, the transmission power is higher, and under the same power, the air volume is more stable. Widely used in sewage treatment, aquaculture, cement transportation, power plants, steel smelting plants, etc
 

 

 

Direct connected blowers may cause relative displacement of the two couplings during transportation and on-site installation. Before the fan operates, it is necessary to inspect and align the coupling to avoid affecting the normal operation of the fan. The precautions for coupling are as follows:

2.1 Couplings are not allowed to have deviations or radial displacements beyond the specified axis to avoid affecting their transmission performance

2.2The bolts of the coupling must not be loose or damaged.

2.3 Couplings are not allowed to have cracks. If there are cracks, they need to be replaced (they can be struck with a small hammer and judged by sound).

2.4The keys of the coupling should fit tightly and not loosen.

2.5The elastic ring of the pin coupling should be replaced promptly if it is damaged or aged
